TYLER R. STIGALL, M.A., LPC-R

Tyler Stigall joined the staff of Commonwealth Psychological Associates PLC first as the office manager, having previously worked for three years as an administrator for the Inova Cancer Genetics center at Inova Fairfax Hospital providing assistance to patients and their relatives. Having completed his training in Professional Counseling at Marymount University, his role in our practice transitioned into Internship and now Residency in his clinical duties, where he will continue to practice and study under the supervision of Lisa Locke, LMFT, and Drs. Anita Auerbach and Eileen Cuasay.

He specializes in treating and providing individual counseling to boys, adolescents, and men with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, phobias, ADHD, executive functioning, Tourette's Syndrome, and family issues.

Tyler combines an interpersonal approach of warmth and empathy with evidence-based treatments including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), habit-reversal training (HRT) for Tourette's Syndrome, and executive function skills training (EFST). His treatment approach is to help patients manage their symptoms while simultaneously helping them get to the root of their problems.

Tyler earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University, and graduated summa cum laude from Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He is an alumni of the Marymount University chapter of Chi Sigma Iota honor’s society for students of mental health counseling, where he served as the chapter’s Treasurer.
